Frequently asked questions

If your question is not answered here, call the clinic and we will talk it through.

What should I expect on my first visit?
Your first visit includes a consultation where we discuss your health history and concerns. We then carry out a physical examination including posture analysis, range of motion, and orthopaedic and neurological testing. After that we explain our findings and discuss a treatment plan suited to you. Where appropriate, you may receive treatment on the same day.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?
No, you do not need a referral to see a chiropractor and you can book directly with us. If you are claiming through a private health fund, check your policy details. If you are claiming under Medicare's Chronic Disease Management plan, you will need a referral from your GP.
How much does a visit cost?
Fees depend on the type and length of your consultation. Please call us on (02) 9983 0532 for current fees. Private health insurance rebates are available where applicable, and we accept Medicare, Workers Compensation and DVA patients where eligible.
Is chiropractic treatment safe?
Chiropractic care is widely recognised as a non-invasive treatment for musculoskeletal conditions. Our chiropractors are AHPRA registered and use evidence-based, practitioner-led techniques. We tailor our approach to each patient's comfort level and condition, and we are happy to discuss any concerns you have.
How many treatments will I need?
This varies depending on your condition, its severity and how long you have had it. After your initial assessment we will talk through a recommended plan. Some people feel relief after a few visits, while others with longer-standing conditions may benefit from ongoing care. Information here is general and is not a substitute for individual assessment.
Can children see a chiropractor?
Yes, we see patients of all ages including children. Paediatric care uses gentle, modified techniques appropriate for a child's developing body.
Is chiropractic care suitable during pregnancy?
Yes. Care during pregnancy can help with common pregnancy-related discomfort such as lower back pain, pelvic pain and postural change.
What payment options are available?
Private health insurance rebates are available where applicable. We also accept Medicare, Workers Compensation and DVA patients where eligible. Please call reception on (02) 9983 0532 if you have questions about your cover.
Is there parking available?
Yes. Nearby parking is available in the St Ives Village carpark, and there is limited-hours parking on Mona Vale Road. We suggest arriving slightly early for an initial consultation so you have time to park and complete your new patient forms.
What are your opening hours?
Monday and Wednesday: 7:30am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Tuesday: 2:00pm to 7:30pm. Thursday: 7:30am to 12:30pm and 2:00pm to 7:30pm. Friday: 7:30am to 1:00pm. Saturday: 8:30am to 12:30pm. We are closed on Sunday. Each chiropractor keeps their own schedule, so call us or check the contact page if you would like to see someone in particular.
